According to Yahoo Sports, the victory allowed Atlanta to reach the WNBA Finals after eliminating New York. The outlet describes the Dream's decisive step in their title pursuit.
The game was played in New York, in an atmosphere the source described as particularly hostile for the visiting team. Despite the environment, Yahoo Sports reports, Atlanta maintained its composure.
Yahoo Sports described the Dream as the least experienced team and the No. 4 seed. The description highlights the profile Atlanta brought into its matchup with the Liberty.
The Atlanta team entered the start of the fourth quarter trailing by two points, according to the available report. In the final period, Yahoo Sports again reports, the Dream found the response they needed.
The ending therefore delivered Atlanta an achievement it had been missing since 2013. Yahoo Sports identifies this as the Dream's first qualification for the WNBA Finals since then.
The qualification came after a game in which, according to the outlet's account, New York repeatedly tried to shift the momentum with important baskets and favorable plays, but Atlanta responded more effectively.
