Lionel Messi has won the MLS Golden Boot for a second consecutive season, becoming the first player in league history to claim the award in back-to-back seasons.
The achievement adds a new MLS record to Messi's time with Inter Miami. Yahoo Sports identifies him as the club's captain, while BBC Sport describes him as an Inter Miami forward.
According to Yahoo Sports, Messi did not score on Decision Day but again finished as MLS's leading scorer, having scored more goals than any other player in the league.
